PARIS/ITALY TANGO EXPERIENCE 2005
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I join in even if I don't dance tango? Most definitely. The tango-related activities are optional and there is plenty to do and discover without them. By joining the group, you take advantage of discount group pricing for both air and hotel and you have a friendly group of people to go out with too!
Can I shorten or lengthen my stay?
In order to get this group price, the entire group must travel on the specified dates.
Can I join the tour single but still request to share a room? Yes, certainly! Many people do just that because package pricing is based on double occupancy. Patricia will suggest a roommate for you and give you a chance to speak with that person beforehand to make sure it will work out.
Is this a structured tour? The trip is loosely structured to give each person enough freedom to do what they like, but also have a group to go out with. Traveling with Patricia will give you the advantage of having someone there that speaks French fluently, has a good knowledge of Italian and is very comfortable traveling in Europe.
How do I register for the workshops in the Fivizzano Festival? Participation for this festival is a la carte, which means that you choose the classes that you want to attend and the activities at night. The Tangoworld website lists the program. As soon as you register for this Tour, your name will be given to the Tangoworld organizers so you can receive your 10% discount when you register for the festival activities of your choice.
What is the tango like in Paris? Absolutely fabulous and very similar to the tango scene in Buenos Aires. The Parisians take their tango very seriously, and there are many Argentines that live in Paris. There are several nightly milongas to choose from, some with live music, or just tango trios that show up and play. And the city is one of the most beautiful and magical in the world, especially at night...it is an extraordinary combination!
Will I be on my own for the milongas? Most likely small groups will form and go out to the milongas together, but you can certainly be on your own if you prefer. The same applies for the sightseeing during the day....groups will form according to their interests: art museums, shopping, general sightseeing or relaxing and walking in the Bois de Boulogne…which is like a little forest in the middle of a city!
Is the dancing by the banks of the River Seine every day? Yes! Weather permitting….and it is free! There is also a group that gets together for salsa dancing, also on the Quai, so you could do both the same evening!
What other activities are there in Paris?
Paris is a beautiful city full of charm and art. There is an activity for every interest and just walking and taking the “metro” to discover quaint neighborhoods is an experience in itself; there is excellent food and wine; delicious pastry shops and “confiseries” where you find the world's best chocolate; Opera, Theatre and Art museums galore, unique shops with the latest fashions, incredible photography opportunities, and then there's just relaxing, sipping tea or coffee at one of the quaint street cafes. Visit Montmartre and see the places where the film Amelie was filmed!
Are the day excursions at an additional cost? Yes, they are optional and will be paid for over there.
Can I use my air miles for the flight? Unfortunately not. Pricing is based on purchasing the package as is.
Should I reserve my spot soon? This tour will sell out as spaces are limited! You can reserve your spot with only a $250 deposit and pay the balance 55 days before departure date.
